Van goes up in flames after tire blows, driver loses control

TANGENT, Ore. - A van caught fire after one of its front tires blew out, causing it to crash.

The driver was not injured.

The crash happened around 7:20 p.m. on Highway 99E near Old Highway 34 in Tangent.

The van was southbound on Hwy 99 when the tire blew, sending it out of control.

First the van hit 2 trees and bushes, then traveled through a parking lot, over a sidewalk and Old Hwy 34 before coming to a stop in the yard at a tractor shop.

Then it caught fire.

The driver got out OK. Firefighters from the Tanget Fire Department extinguished the blaze.
