Unoccupied Eugene home catches fire on W. 2nd Avenue
EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene-Springfield Fire extinguished a house fire Tuesday morning at 2025 W. 2nd Avenue in Eugene.
The call came in around 8:30 a.m.
Officials said nobody was inside the home and no injuries were reported.
Eugene-Springfield Fire says the home appeared to be abandoned and campers living in the back likely started the fire.
It burned in the attic and exterior, causing damage to the structure.
Traffic was diverted for a few hours on Chambers.
Fire officials said it serves as a warning that it’s still dry out and homeowners should still be careful.
