NORTH BEND, Ore. - Two people and their dog died in a fiery pickup crash on Highway 101 late Tuesday night about 5 miles north of North Bend.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released pending notification of their families.
According to state police, the 1993 Ford Ranger pickup was northbound on Hwy 101 around 11:20 p.m. when it crossed the southbound lanes, left the highway and continued north along the shoulder before overturning and catching fire.
The driver and his passenger both died at the scene, along with a pet dog.
Investigators do not know why the driver lost control of the truck.
