Truck towing veggies tips, blocks traffic on Hwy 58
DEXTER, Ore. -- A semi-truck carrying a load of vegetables rolled onto its side on Highway 58 Sunday afternoon, blocking traffic west of Oakridge, state police said.
Officials said that at about 3 p.m. Sunday, the Freightliner semi-truck went off the road and landed on its side, blocking the west and eastbound lanes at milepost 18, east of Dexter.
Crash investigators still don't know what caused the driver, Anthony Chand, 45 of Sacramento, Calif., to lose control of his truck. Chand had his seat belt on then the truck tipped and wasn't hurt during the crash.
Oregon Department of Transportation officials said that there were long traffic delays in the area as crews unloaded the trailer to clear the roadway.
