MONROE, Ore. - A 36-year-old driver died when his pickup truck hit a tree, ejecting him from the rig early Monday morning.
Jack Allen Jones of Monroe died at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Dawson and Bellfountain roads.
Benton County Sheriff's Deputies got the call shortly after 4 a.m. Monday.
Deputies and firefighters found Jones dead at the scene.
Investigators belive Jones was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed on Dawson Road in a red F250 pickup when the truck hit a tree on the northeast corner of the intersection with Bellfountain Road.
Jones was not wearing a seatbelt. Deputies suspect alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
