SWEET HOME, Ore. - Three people now face assault and kidnapping charges related to a report of a woman being held against her will last weekend, and detectives are asking for the public's help locating a fourth person wanted for questioning in the case.
The investigation started after a 20-year-old woman told the Linn County Sheriff's Office she went to the Sweet Home residence of Daniel Fred Schroeder on Friday. She told detectives that at some point over the weekend she was held against her will and assaulted until she could escape Sunday.
The sheriff's office asked for help from the public locating Schroeder, who was later taken into custody on charges of first degree kidnapping and third degree assault.
On Tuesday evening, detectives interviewed two more people in Sweet Home in connection with the case. After the interviews, detectives arrested Karissa Lynett Williams, 33, and Joseph Raphael Gutierrez, 30, on charges of first degree kidnapping and third degree assault.
Investigators now want the public's help finding Michell Dawn Slay, 25. Detectives describe Slay as a transient who frequents Albany, Lebanon and Sweet HOme.
The sheriff's office asks anyone with information regarding Slay's whereabouts or information on this case to contact Detective Mike Harmon at the Linn County Sheriff's Office 1-800-884-3911.
