Students camp out for ESPN College GameDay
EUGENE, Ore. - As she sifts through her bag of goodies, University of Oregon freshman Elizabeth Burr is ready for a night of camping out.
"I brought pop-tarts, protein bars, and trash bags to sit on," Burr said.
Burr is one of the first in line for ESPN College GameDay at the UO and she plans to wait 14 hours overnight just to keep her place in line.
"We've been planning to camp out ever since we heard GameDay was going to be here," Burr said.
Burr brought several different signs she plans to hold up to catch the eye of the ESPN camera.
"We'll hold up the signs pretty much the entire time they're there," Burr said. "We're planning on getting right in between the anchors so hopefully they'll see them," one of them says "'Mom send me money', so hopefully she'll get the message."
A fourth generation duck, Burr said its something she could not afford to miss.
"It's pretty much a legacy in my family to go the UO and being on TV at the University of Oregon - I'll will just be like, 'yeah I go there so you guys can deal with it.'"
As the night went on more and more fans braved the cold and planned to stay all night.
"It just shows how much you're a duck fan," Burr said.
