'Stay Warm Drive' held at White Bird Clinic

EUGENE, Ore. - Every year, homeless people in our area go to White Bird Clinic for service help, especially during the winter.

Now, the White Bird Clinic is asking the community to help the un-housed population by donating to its 'Stay Warm Drive.' The clinic is accepting blankets, scarves, gloves, sweaters and socks.

Heather Sielicki, the Operations Coordinator at Whitebird, says their mission is to keep everyone warm and alive this winter.

"We are going into this winter about 1,000 beds short," said Sielicki. "So what we are trying to do with our 'Stay Warm Drive' is keep people alive."

Organizers say the items don't need to be new, they can be gently used, and you can drop off any donations seven days a week during their hours of operations.

The White Bird Clinic is located near 12th and High Streets in Eugene, and they are open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
