Smoke from grass fires delays traffic on I-5 near Cottage Grove
COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- Crews closed one of the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 north of Cottage Grove Wednesday afternoon to fight a grass fire that was sending up thick clouds of smoke along the roadway.
Firefighters were called out to fight the fire on the east side of the interstate near the E Saginaw Road Exit (Exit 176) at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Our reporters at the scene said crews have the flames knocked down, but the fire is sending up a lot of smoke.
