Sheriff: Wanted man 'Gator' found with meth at church

SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- Sheriff's detectives say they captured Caleb 'Gator' Titus at a church on Tuesday.

At about 3:15 pm, detectives say their investigation lead to the Catholic Church on Comstock Road in Sutherlin.

Authorities say Titus was taken into custody without incident.

Titus had two arrest warrants, and detectives say he was in possession of methamphetamine when they arrested him.

Titus was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on the warrants and for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, the Sheriff's office said.

Officials say Titus is a person of interest in several recent residential burglaries. Last month, Detectives say they recovered two stolen guns from his residence after he avoided arrest.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Sutherlin Police Department in apprehending Titus, and say they would like to thank the public for the tips and information that was relayed to investigators.
