Sheriff: Fight between brothers turns into shooting
TRAIL, Ore. -- Two brothers had a disagreement that ended in gunfire on Sunday, according to the Sheriff's office.
Just after 9:30 pm, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to the West Branch of Elk Creek Road near Trail for a report of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found that Michael Chrisco, 36, and Joshua Chrisco, 32, both of Trail, had a disagreement.
Deputies say that at some point during the night, Joshua took Michael's black, 12 gauge, sawed off shotgun and shot it towards the trailer Michael was in.
Deputies say the pellets broke through the window, hitting Michael in the face.
Michael was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Joshua was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail, charged by deputies with first and second degree assault, reckless endangering, unlawful possession of a short-barreled firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
Bail is currently set at $2,017,000.
Authorities say that details regarding the disagreement are unclear, as neither of the two brothers are cooperating with law enforcement.
Deputies say alcohol was involved.
The case will be forwarded to the Jackson County District's Attorney's Office for prosecution.
