MONROE, Ore. - A driver in a 1980 Mercury Cougar sped away from a sheriff's deputy at 100 mph, crashed through a fence and parked in the carport of a home Wednesday night.
Deputies entered the home and found nothing - until they went up to the attic.
There, officers found a man and woman hiding in the insulation.
Deputies arrested the duo on charges related to running from the law and methamphetamine.
The chase started around 10:23 p.m. on Highway 99W at Stow Pit Road, about two miles north of Monroe.
The car left the road via a fence and parked behind a home off of Springhill Road, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies arrested Robert Lee Conn, 45, and Rebecca Jean Devereaux, 32, after finding them in the insulation. They both live at the home, the sheriff's office said.
