Potentially armed man robs pizza store

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Police in Springfield are still looking for a man who robbed a Little Caesars Friday afternoon.

At around 4:20 pm Friday, a man went inside the pizza store at Pioneer Parkway and Q St. claiming to have a gun, officials said.

Witnesses told police the man went east down Q St. after the robbery. No one was injured during the incident.

A responding K9 unit was unable to find the suspect, police said.

Police say they are looking for a white man, 20-30 years old, 6'3", very thin with a long, reddish beard. On Friday they say he was wearing a wearing a red beanie, green snowboarding type jacket and brownish-maroon pants.

Springfield Police said that the robbery could be connected to another robbery in south Eugene.

Witnesses described a similar suspect in a robbery at the Domino's on Willamette St. Thursday afternoon.

Sergeant Richard Jones with Springfield Police said some criminals get comfortable robbing similar types of businesses.

"Some like to rob banks, some like to rob small convenience stores and, you know, potentially this suspect - if it's the same suspect - likes these type of restaurants," Sgt. Jones said.
