Police: Woman pulls daughter from hands of intruder

EUGENE, Ore. - A mother pulled her daughter away from a man who grabbed the toddler from inside a home by way of an unlocked front door Tuesday night, police said.

At around 10:30, a woman who lives in the River Road area reported she was in her kitchen when she heard the front door open, police said.

She told police she had left it unlocked for a family member.

When she heard her toddler scream, she ran to the front door and saw a man reaching through the open door, grabbing her daughter.

The woman was able to pull the child away from the man, close the door and lock it, police said.

The man fled.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, about 6-foot-2 with a thin build, wearing a red/blue baseball cap, dark shirt and jean shorts.
