SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Police ticketed a pedestrian hit by a car Monday night for failing to yield to the vehicle.
Jose Salvio, 44, suffered cuts and bruises when he stepped in front of a car at 66th and Main streets in Springfield around 8:30 p.m., police said. He was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield.
Salvio told police he had been drinking alcohol before he stepped into the street. The driver of the car told police she was turning onto 66th off of Main at about 25 mph.
