Police: Suspect in samurai sword attack on brother arrested
BEAVERTON, Ore. - A man accused of cutting his brother with a samurai sword in Grants Pass last month was arrested Thursday in Beaverton.
Preston James Sweaney, 23, was booked on warrants out of California and Curry County, Oregon. Additional charges of Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon are pending in Josephine County.
Sweaney vanished November 15 after getting into a fight with his younger brother. Police said Sweaney cut his brother with a samurai sword before leaving the scene.
