Police set up perimeter to find suspect in unlawful home entry
EUGENE, Ore. - Police blocked off part of the southwest Eugene neighborhoods Thursday night after a resident reported that a strange man had entered their home.
Dispatchers received the call at around 8:10 p.m. Thursday from a homeowner living in the 1300 block of W 17th Ave.
The caller told police that a man entered their home from an unlocked door. The caller's dog then chased the man off the property, police officials said.
Witnesses saw the man run east down the Fern Ridge trail bike path near 15th Ct. and City View.
Officers set up the perimeter along the bike path in the area around Chambers to City View to search for the man suspected of "unlawful home entry", police officials said.
The caller described the suspect as a heavyset man with black hair wearing a dark jacket.
