Police: Man who caused 2-car crash was DUII

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Police say a Roseburg man was charged with DUII in a crash that sent his pickup into a power pole after he pulled out in front of another vehicle.

Police were called to the 2100 block of NE Stephens at about 6:45 pm Wednesday, for a reported two-vehicle crash.

When officers arrived they found a 1998 Dodge pickup and a 1997 Chrysler van had collided, sending the pickup into a nearby power pole.

The driver of the pickup, Donald Bryan Haskett, 47, was transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the van and his passenger were not injured.

Officers say the investigation found Haskett had pulled out in front of the van making a left turn onto NE Stephens.

Authorities say Haskett showed signs of impairment and was charged with DUII, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.

Haskett was cited and released from Mercy.
