Police: Man detained for firing a gun in River Loop neighborhood
EUGENE, Ore. -- Officers detained a man for firing a gun in the River Loop area Friday afternoon, Eugene Police said.
Officials said that Eugene Police responded to a Lane County Sheriff's Office call of a man firing off rounds in the Santa Clara/River Road area.
Shortly after detaining the man, police officers checked with nearby residents to make sure everyone was safe, EPD Public Information Officer Melinda McLaughlin told KVAL News.
Police reported that many residents in the area were concerned about the man, but no one was injured.
Officials have not released any information about the man's arrest.
