EUGENE, Ore. -- An impaired driver crashed into his garage early Sunday morning after nearby residents reported he sideswiped cars on Lancaster Drive, police officials said.
Eugene Police cited Nicholas Vito Larson, 35, of Eugene, for driving under the influence, hit and run, and reckless driving after officers found him at his home in the 4000 block of Eddystone Place.
Police were initially called out at around 1:50 a.m. after getting reports Larson had hit multiple cars while driving along the nearby Lancaster Drive.
Eugene Police called out a drug recognition expert to help find out Larson's impairment level.
From Eugene Police:
Due to the Memorial Day Weekend and increased traffic on the road, EPD wants to remind the public to use caution when driving, wear seatbelts, follow the rules of the road and not drink and drive. Also, many people don't know that taking medication and driving (or mixing alcohol and medication and driving) can cause impairment and lead to Driving Under the Influence charges.
