Police: Gunman captured after robbing jewelry store at mall
EUGENE, Ore. - A man robbed a jewelry store of cash at gunpoint Tuesday morning.
Police captured the suspect about 10 minutes later with the help of mall security and store employees.
Eugene Police responded to an 11:19 a.m. report of an armed robbery at Harry Ritchie's Jewelry at the Valley River Center.
The suspect was described as bald, 5-foot-8 and in his 60s with a large midsection. He was wearing glasses, a bright green shirt and khaki short.
Working with Valley River Center Security and store employees, police took William Patrick Ingram, 62, into custody near the mall's northeast entrance.
Ingram faces a charge of robbery in the first degree.
Police said the cash was recovered during the arrest.
