Police: Alcohol could be a factor in apartment fire

EUGENE, Ore. -- Police arrested a man they said set an apartment on fire in west Eugene early Friday morning.

Investigators suspect that Delvin Cloud, 32, was drunk when he started a small fire inside an apartment in the 100 block of N McKinley St. at around 4 a.m. Friday.

Delvin was booked at the Lane County Jail on first degree arson and recklessly endangering charges.

Emergency crews responded to another fire inside a tool shed at W 2nd ave. about 20 minutes before the McKinley St. apartment fire was reported.

Eugene Police officials said that the fires do not appear to be related.
