ROSEBURG, Ore. -- No one was injured but two men were jailed, after a bar fight that involved a gun and a drunk getaway driver, police said.
On Thursday just before 9:00 pm, officers were called to the Scoreboard Tavern at 920 SE Stephens for a disturbance involving a gun, police said.
Officers say it all started when William Mansel Reed, 57, of Roseburg, insulted another man's wife, then took the argument outside.
Police say Reed took a swing at the man but missed, so he pulled out a fully loaded pistol out of his waistband and pointed it at the other man.
The victim tackled Reed and was able to knock the gun out of his hand, police said.
Officers say Reed's friend, Rex Arthur Austin, 62, grabbed the gun and Reed and drove away from the bar.
They were stopped a few blocks away and detained by officers, who said Austin was driving under the influence.
Austin was cited and released on that charge, while Reed was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of menacing, pointing a firearm at another and being a felon in possession of a firearm, among other charges.
