Phone outage interrupts 911 service to some Dexter residents

DEXTER, Ore. -- Crews are working to fix a phone service outage that hit the Dexter area Thursday night, police officials said.

The Century Link outage cut service to some land-line phones in Dexter; mostly those with a 937 prefix.

The Central Lane 9-1-1 Communication Center sent out a message saying residents in an emergency should go to the Dexter Fire Department.

Those with cell service can still call 9-1-1 with an emergency, officials said.
