Pendleton woman dies from injuries suffered in 20-car pileup on I-84
PENDLETON, Ore. - A woman injured in a 20-car pileup on Interstate 84 on Saturday has died, Oregon State Police said.
Alameda Addison, 58, of Pendelton was one of the drivers in the crash involving 13 passenger cars and 7 commercial vehicles, police said.
Addison later died from her injuries at Kadlec Medical Center, police said.
Addison was one of 9 people taken to the hospital after the crash on Cabbage Hill near the Deadman's Pass Lookout.
The freeway drops 2,000 feet in elevation over 6 miles there via a series of hairpin turns.
State police said black ice and speed are suspected to be factors in the crash.
