EUGENE, Ore. -- College students in Lane County will soon learn how they could pay for all their tuition costs in one day.
While it may sound like a lofty goal, officials with Lane Community College said it is attainable through applying to the right scholarships.
Jackie Bryson of the LCC Career & Development Center is hosting the 'How To Pay For College In One Day' seminar on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The free, one-day event is built up of two workshops that teach students how write the right essays and applications for scholarships.
Hannah Achepohl, a current student at LCC, says she attended the event a few years back and says it was the best choice she could have made for her education.
"I believe I filled out 47 scholarship applications and got about 7 of them my first year," Achepohl said.
Bryson said anyone enrolled in higher education is welcomed to attend the seminar on Saturday.
"Students tend to self-eliminate themselves from the scholarship application. The reality is everyone is unique and has special things to offer for scholarships," said Bryson.
