Oregon National Guard takes part in University of Oregon Spring Game

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon National Guard displayed military equipment at Autzen Stadium Saturday for the annual University of Oregon Spring Game.

Soldiers greeted fans in front of the stadium before the game and veterans from every branch of service participated in Military Appreciation Day activities during the game.

Oregon Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Amber LaPerle sang the National Anthem to begin the game.

Soldiers also performed a flag folding ceremony in honor of missing and fallen service members during half time.

The football players gave their jerseys to members of the Oregon National Guard and veterans.

At the spring game, the Ducks scrimmage each other to try out their spring practice skills before the fall season. Fans could enter by making a donation to FOOD for Lane County at the admission gate.
