Oregon leads the market in adult foster homes and in-care help

With the age of 'Baby Boomers,' assisted living facilities continue to grow (SBG).

EUGENE, Ore. - The Aging and Disability Resource Connection is seeing an increase in people looking for help, and fortunately, there are several options for senior citizens.

Oregon is a pioneer when it comes to offering options from in-care help to adult foster homes.

Whether you are looking for yourself or a family member, you can compare facilities through the ADRC Website.

"Really want to meet with somebody who will sit down with you in your home or over the phone up to three months of time following up with you," said Rachel Jacobsen, a Unit Manager at ADRC. "The options counselor facilitates that decision you're making about your long term care options."

These services are open to anyone looking to start this process. Jacobsen says if you're looking for an assisted living facility, it's best to go unannounced so you can get an authentic feel of the place.
