Oregon dedicates World War II memorial at Capitol

SALEM, Ore. - Hundreds of people crowded the grounds of the Oregon Captiol for the official dedication of the Oregon World War II memorial Friday.

The $1.2 million project 5 years in the marking features a 33-foot obelisk, representing Oregon as the 33rd state admitted to the Union.

The obelisk is flanked by granite walls bearing the names of the 3,770 Oregonians killed during World War II.
