Officials looking for dog that bit woman Thursday

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A dog described only as a 'Pit Bull' bit a woman in Roseburg's Green District on Thursday, and is now being sought for observation, an official with the county health department said.

Douglas County Animal Control is looking for a dog described as a Pit Bull that bit a woman near the Fast Stop Market on Old Hwy 99 South.

Authorities say the woman was petting the dog when it bit her.

Officials had no other information about the dog, but say it needs to be found for observation purposes only, as required by law.
