COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. - Firefighters kept the flames from spreading to any other homes after arriving at the scene of home fully involved in fire early Monday morning.
South Lane County Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire at 1136 South Second Street Cottage Grove at 4:17 a.m. Monday.
The occupants of the home were not home at the time of the fire, firefighters said.
South Lane County Fire Rescue responded with three fire engines, one ambulance and two command vehicles. A total of 15 firefighting personnel responded to the fire.
The home and contents suffered approximately $220,000 dollars damage. However, firefighters were able to contain the fire with no damage to close by surrounding homes.
A routine fire investigation in being performed by the Fire District Fire Marshal. The cause of the fire appears accidental at this time.
