COOS COUNTY, Ore. -- The Albacore tuna season is over and preliminary numbers show a near record value to fishermen.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife shows the value for 2013 at just over $16 million.
That amount is 35% higher than the 10-year average.
Newport led the pack with nearly 5 million pounds.
Fishermen in Charlesten landed just under 2 million pounds.
