Mystery rings found on city bus

SOUTHWEST PORTLAND, Ore. -- Victoria was riding the No. 56 bus on her way home from work Tuesday night when she looked down and spotted something odd.

"I had no idea what was inside. Plenty of things could've been in there," Victoria told KATU.

But she slammed the box closed as soon as she opened it when she saw a bright shiny wedding ring and engagement ring inside.

She saw the engraved names and date on each ring and felt she had to find the owner, so she contacted KATU.

KATU took the rings to a jeweler who confirmed the stones are likely cubic zirconia in a silver setting, but could have cost the buyer well over $100.

Victoria says she'll hand the rings over to police if she doesn't hear, but hopes she can get the rings back to the happy couple she hopes will have them soon.
