SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A motorcylist remains in intensive care after he collided with a guardrail late Sunday, police said.
Kenneth Earle McFarland, 55, of Junction City crashed at 10:40 p.m. in the 1800 block of South A Street in Springfield. A caller told police McFarland hit a guardrail and was thrown 100 feet from his bike by the impact.
McFarland was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, where he was in the ICU as of Monday morning, police said.
Springfield Police said their initial investigation suggests speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash.
