BANDON, Ore. - City Councilors will vote Monday on a resolution asking the federal government to take immediate action to curb the mosquito problem at the Bandon Marsh.
"We are a tourism based economy," said City Councilor Brian Vick, "and if you got these things flying around - I got an email this morning from a lady that said she'll never come back until this problem is gone, and she's been coming here for 15 years."
Coos County Commissioner Bob Main expects the county will file a similar resolution over the mosquito problem.
In addition to the resolutions, citizens are holding a meeting August 30 to discuss filing a class action lawsuit.
And the Coos County Health Department is meeting with u.s. fish and wildlife here at the marsh to further assess the mosquito situation.
