COBURG, Ore. -- State troopers reunited a missing 8-year-old girl with her father Saturday after she left the family's Coburg home earlier that day.
The girl, who has Down Syndrome, was found after she reportedly walked into an antique store. Employees called state police after finding the girl could only offer her name.
Troopers canvassed neighborhoods in the area with a photo of the girl, trying to find where she lived. State Police met with the child's father about an hour into their search. He was also searching the neighborhoods for his daughter, who officials say has a history of wandering off from the home.
Oregon State Police joins the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children encouraging families to talk about safety with their children as part of the Take 25 national child safety campaign.
