PLEASANT HILL, Ore. - A man shot and killed himself Monday on the front porch of a home he had been ordered by a court to avoid.
The 55-year-old man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Oregon State Police said.
State troopers and a Lane County Sheriff's deputy responded just before 8 a.m. to a report that the man was outside a home in violation of a recently issued restraining order.
Law enforcement arrived on scene and found the man seated on the porch with a gunshot wound to the head.
Medics from Pleasant Hill Fire & Rescue responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
State police and the Lane County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating to confirm the cause and circumstances of his death. Police expected the man's name to be released Tuesday.
