LONGVIEW, Wash. - A man escaped a house fire early Saturday morning in Longview.
Firefighters arrived at the home on 16th Avenue just before 6 a.m. after a man called 911 and reported his house was on fire. The back of the home was burning when crews arrived.
No one was hurt. Firefighters had the fire under control within 15 minutes.
It's unclear what caused the fire, but investigators believe it started outside the home. The tenant told investigators he heard a popping sound coming from the back of the home before the fire started.
Firefighters say the fire is a good reminder to make sure your smoke detectors work when you change your clocks Saturday night.
