LTD discusses changes to west Eugene routes
EUGENE, Ore. – The Lane Transit District is preparing to change several routes in north and west Eugene as they prepare to expand EmX in west Eugene.
Wednesday night, LTD held an open house and board meeting. The public was welcome to ask questions about the proposed changes.
For months, LTD has been surveying west Eugene riders about what they’d like to see.
They say the main idea is to connect these routes to the EmX line to make things more efficient for riders in west Eugene.
“We're really excited that people can get from the River Road, Bethel/Danebo areas to West Eugene and back without having to go all the way to downtown Eugene,” said Rob Zako from better Eugene-Springfield Transportation. “Allowing people to take the shortest routes to where they want to go is what we all want to do.”
Another change is expanding service to Veneta.
Zako thinks over the years, LTD has improved at listening to the community’s input.
The LTD board will make its final decision on the proposed changes at its April meeting.
