EUGENE, Ore. - As the college football season gets underway, businesses around Eugene are ramping up for gameday.

Many stores and restaurants revolve around the Oregon schedule, and summer slows down the foot traffic for many, making the start of the season a welcome boost.

Kathy Jense, the owner of the Wild Duck Cafe, says it's been a quiet summer so far, but she hopes it picks up with the return of football.

"We are a little bit event-driven with what goes on at Matthew Knight Arena," said Jense. "This past summer, we didn't have the concerts we did last year."

Wild Duck Cafe owners say they definitely benefit from their fairly close location to Autzen Stadium, and that they've been enjoying those benefits for five years now.
