EUGENE, Ore. - The 76th Oregon Logging Conference is going on at Lane Events Center through Saturday.
Billed as the largest display of logging equipment west of the Mississippi, millions of dollars of logging equipment is on display in the parking lot.
Loggers and their families enjoyed hands-on seminars, the log loader competition and equipment displays.
The seminars focused on safe and environmentally conscious practices, giving loggers the chance to earn up to nine credits and achieve their professional logging certification.
Forestry pros get a look at the latest in technology and equipment, which logging conference president Milt Morgan said averages at around $750,000 each.
"The computers that are inside the machines are amazing today, where operators are able to see diameters and lengths, to make the best log possible out there and keeping the loggers safer," said Morgan.
The Oregon Logging Conference is free to the public on its final day, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
