Jokebook author Frog at hospital in critical condition

UPDATE: Frog has been upgraded to fair condition in the ICU as people in Eugene pull for him

EUGENE, Ore. - David "Frog" Miller was in critical condition in the ICU at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend on Tuesday morning.

The street vendor, well known for asking passersby on 13th Avenue near the University of Oregon campus "Have you seen the world's funniest jokebooks?", was taken to the hospital Sunday.

Frog's friends and fans have taken to his Facebook page to share words of encouragements and bad jokes (many of them not suitable for work).

On Tuesday afternoon, one of his housemates posted a progress report.

"He has apparently stabilized more in Riverbend ICU, and hopefully will be ready to receive visitors soon," David Rogers wrote. "As soon as he starts telling jokes, they'll be ready to discharge him!"
