High speed chase ends with crash, foot pursuit
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A man led police on an 80 mph chase before crashing the car through a fence and into a utility pole early Friday morning.
The suspect then took off on foot, hiding in backyards before a police dog tracked him down.
Police booked Perry Dajon Henderson, 22, on cahrges of attempting to elude in a car and on foot; reckless dirving; criminal mischief; driving while suspended; interfering with police; and trespassing.
The chase started at 3:18 a.m. on Harlow Road at Clear Vue Lane. Police said Henderson sped off at 80 mph on Harlow before turning into residential streets.
He turned into a dead end, then crashed through a fence and into a power pole, police said.
Henderson fled on foot but was taken into custody by a police dog in some bushes on Ascot Lane.
