SALEM, Ore. -- A Grand Jury has found that four Salem Police officers were justified in their use of force in an incident last month.

Police had gotten reports of the driver of a motorhome going recklessly through town, speeding and weaving by other vehicles on the road on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Officers opened fire on the driver, 61-year-old Roy Victor Devoursney, as they tried to stop him, but he eventually crashed into two patrol cars before the motorhome's tires were blown out by spike strips.

Two Salem Police corporals who were inside the damaged patrol vehicles were also taken to the hospital for evaluations.

Police say they used a Taser on Devoursney before he was taken into custody. Additionally, Devoursney was indicted on charges of attempted aggravated murder, assault, felony failure to perform the duties of a driver, DUII, reckless driving and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
