PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A fugitive from Montana injured during a confrontation with police on the Oregon coast has been released from a Portland hospital and taken to jail.
Oregon State Police say a trooper struck 30-year-old Dale Wallace with a patrol car Friday when Wallace pointed a gun at officers in Lincoln City.
Arrest warrants had been issued in Montana for Wallace and a companion, Sara Jo Johnson. They were accused of robbing a Butte coin shop in late December.
Johnson fatally shot herself late Friday after a four-hour standoff with law enforcement officers.
Wallace was flown to a Portland hospital with injuries described as serious. He's now lodged at the Multnomah County jail.
