JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- The art, dancing and food of Junction City's 53rd Scandinavian Festival transported people to life in an old village in Scandinavia.
People from aaround the state visited the free event put on each year by a large team of staff and volunteers.
"It's a very quaint festival," said Muriel Cole of Woodburn. "I was invited to come with friends to the Scandinavian festival...and since I'm Scandinavian, I said "yes! I'd love to come."
Festival chairperson Jessica Peterson said the dozens of vendors packing the festival full of authentic foods and crafts made everything possible.
"It takes a lot of hard work and coordination. Our goal is to make our downtown look like a little old Scandinavian village ...and the vendors really play a role into that," said Peterson.
The Scandinavian Festival runs though Sunday.
