HELENA, Mont. (AP) The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a 28-year-old Montana man who escaped from Bozeman police while being questioned about a reported sexual assault.
The agency says Kevin Briggs may travel to Washington, Oregon, California and Mexico and may be staying in homeless shelters while earning money to travel.
Briggs faces a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and charges of aggravated assault, attempted sexual intercourse without consent and assault on a peace officer in Gallatin County.
Briggs was being questioned about a reported assault on his former girlfriend early on Feb. 1, but walked out of a police station during a shift change.
The FBI wanted poster that offers the reward says Briggs traveled to Missoula that night and bought a bus ticket to Spokane, Wash.
Anyone who sees Briggs or knows where he is should call police.
