Evergreen Tattoo Invitational through Sunday in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Over 150 tattoo artists from around the US will be featured over the next three days at the first Evergreen Tattoo Invitational and Expo at the Willamalane Center.

Joshua Carlton and Riley Smith organized the invitational to allow tattoo artists to promote their work and network with fellow artists.

Tattoo artist Splat Ter, who works for High Priestess Piercing and Tattoo in Eugene, said that although there is competition, there is a lot more camaraderie between artists.

"There are so many great artists that are going to be there," Ter said. "It's going to be overwhelming."

He added, "It's nice to meet them and know that they don't have a large head and that they are somebody you can discuss stuff with. It's a really nice feeling."

You must be 18 or older with identification to get a tattoo.

The invitational includes music, food, art, vendors, contests and a beer garden, as well as seminars on first aid and CPR certification, painting methods, and tattooing as a business.

The event runs Friday through Sunday, Feb. 21 -23, at the Willamalane Center, 250 S. 32nd St.

A one-day pass is $10 and three-day passes are $25. Children 10 and under are free.

Saturday, Feb. 22: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
