Eugene hits 70 F for first time in 199 days: Could we see 80 F this week?
EUGENE, Ore. - The temperature at the Eugene Airport hit 70 F Monday for the first time in 199 days.
Astoria tied the record high of 73, set back in 2006.
And Portland appears primed to up the ante Tuesday with an 80 degree day.
Eugene could follow suit.
The forecast for Tuesday calls for a high in the mid-70s.
The mercury could crest 80 on Wednesday.
Those won't be record temperatures - the record for Wednesday is 81F.
Allergy sufferers won't care for the high pollen counts forecast this week.
And the warmth won't last long: By Friday, forecasts call for high temperatures to be back in the 50s.
But with the sun setting after 8 p.m., and the days growing longer and warmer, it's safe to say: Spring has sprung!
