Driver dies after crash impact bends pickup
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - A woman died after her truck left the road and collided with a drainage tunnel under a driveway, Oregon State Police said.
Police identified the driver as 76-year-old Pauline Kower.
The impact bent the 2000 Ford Ranger pickup.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m Thursday. Investigators believe Kower may have had a pre-existing medical condition that contributed to the crash.
The truck drifted off of Highway 97 and crashed into a culvert, a metal tube that allows water to pass under a raised driveway.
Firefighters pulled the woman from the wreckage and rushed her to the local hospital, where she died 2 hours later.
